About the kidney - Fukk day coourse for doctors, nurses and allied professionals

A full-day course about the Kidney

For Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

Chronic kidney disease…the silent killer

In 2014-15 there were 203 400 Australians experiencing kidney disease according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. It also showed that for every patient that is diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) another 9 individuals remain cognizant to having the condition. This is partly due to patients being asymptomatic even when 80-90% of renal function has deteriorated. Lack of public awareness is also a contributing factor.

Course date: 30 November 2019

Release weight compassionately

For Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

With the introduction of the new classification of obesity as a disease by the American Medical Association in 2013, new challenges have emerged on the treatment of obesity. It is less treated as a cosmetic and lifestyle issue and more as multifactorial condition that can be beyond the patient's personal choice. Obesity is currently not defined as a disease in Australia.
